Never Too Late
A holiday visit from a former student brought tears to the eyes of his teacher.
Brought up in a very secular home the visitor courageously returned to his Jewish roots, studied at Ohr Somayach and settled in Israel. His father came to Israel this past Succot to visit his son and grandchildren. As he entered their beautiful succah he was filled with emotion. For this ninety-year old American Jew this was the first time in his life that he ever sat in a succah.
This was not his only first. The son introduced his father to the mishna dealing with the laws of succah, blending the theoretical and practical in a way that brought true joy to the heart of an old man.
Which once again proves that it’s never too late to learn and to do.
