In the eastern part of Upper Galilee is Kibbutz Ayelet Hashachar.
The story goes that this name of the “morning star” became the name of the kibbutz because its founders had no rooster. Its members only knew when to rise for work by hearing the night guard call out that the morning star had appeared. After several years they decided to find a name for their community. All night long they sat and considered names which they then rejected as being unfit. Then came the cry of the guard to wake up for work because the morning star had appeared. At that moment they decided to call their kibbutz Ayelet Hashachar.
