Israel - The Pleasant and Good Land
Are residents of Israel thriving, struggling or suffering in the land praised in our prayers as being "pleasant and good"?
This is the question which was put to Israelis in a Gallup World Poll survey of 155 countries conducted between 2005-2009.
The responses given awarded Israel eighth place among the world's happiest countries. It was thus tied with Canada, Switzerland and Australia and ahead of the USA in 14th place and Britain in 17th. Israel's Arab neighbors were way behind.
