A Spanish Tribute
Jerusalemites are familiar with the Raoul Wallenberg Square in the center of the capital. It was to be expected that the Jewish State would thus honor the Swedish diplomat credited with saving tens of thousands of Jews from the Holocaust.
But it came as a pleasant surprise to learn that the city council of the Spanish city of Monforte unanimously voted to name a street in the towns old Jewish Quarter "Rua de Raoul Wallenberg".
An official street-naming ceremony is scheduled to take place during the next few months.
